We invite EQ token holders to discuss a strategic shift in Equilibrium's tokenomics. We want to revitalize the protocol and introduce a new token, Q, and a corresponding substitution mechanism for EQ and Q tokens. We would like to discuss the pros and cons of doing so with the community before proceeding to the actual vote. 

Ever since the inception of [Equilibrium](https://equilibrium.io/), our vision has been to establish it as the premier DeFi platform within the Polkadot ecosystem. However, despite our technological advancements and unique offerings, the Polkadot environment prompted a reevaluation. The Polkadot ecosystem's focus on application chains and the growing popularity of Liquid Staking Derivatives has shifted priorities, leading us to propose a project focus shift and a token swap to introduce Q tokens.

We’ve carefully crafted its tokenomics to make sure that we include all interested parties and take into account their interests. This is the most thorough approach we have ever taken to the tokenomics design: months of work, two 3-rd party teams of analysts and model builders, scenario and agent-based modeling - all of this had to be aligned to bring you the Q! Moreover, the team allocation for the Q token is locked and vested for 3 years, signaling to our community our long-term commitment to the protocol and our users.
